Medical Foam Products for All Your Needs

Engineered foam products have a number of different uses in the medical industry and are used in hospitals, doctors’ surgeries, care homes and by medical suppliers the world over. Foam is used for important medical products, including cervical collars, wound dressings, surgery masks, wheelchair and bed cushions, prosthetic devices, filters, swabs and wipes, among many more applications. As foam suppliers and manufacturers, we can provide engineered foam of different densities, thicknesses and materials for use in all your medical applications.

Disability Comfort Products

Memory foam is used in a number of different disability products because of the comfort it gives the user, relieving pressure on the body’s joints. Memory foam beds and chairs are often found in nursing and care homes, and specially designed disability chairs will usually use memory foam in the seat and back because users spend so long sitting in them without being able to stand up or even adjust their own position.

Memory foam can also be used for people with lesser mobility issues, including for seat bases and backs in office chairs and for wrist supports for those who use computers. Many specially designed ergonomic keyboards and mice now have memory foam pads incorporated into their design. As leading foam suppliers in the UK, we can manufacture and supply foam to meet your specific requirements, so if you have a disability product which you think would benefit from memory foam, contact us and we can discuss the various options with you.

HME Foams

HME stands for heat and moisture exchange and HME foams are widely found in medical breathing and anaesthesia systems and equipment, including in dry and calcium chloride impregnated forms. These reticulated PU foams have an open cell structure which helps to collect and hold some of the heat and moisture from a patient’s exhaled breath, which is then returned to them during inhalation. Because the cell size and porosity of HME foams can be precisely controlled, this makes them perfect for filtration applications, such as blood filters, swabs and wipes.

Wound Dressings

PU foams, PVA foams and hydrophilic foams can all be used for wound dressings. Hydrophilic foams are used where fluid absorption is required, such as in moist dressings and medical wipes. We provide both non-adhering and non-linting hyrdrophilic foams offering comfort, protection and oxygen permeability.

PVA foams are ideal for dressing open and moist wounds because they absorb fluids and bacteria without adhering to the wound, which is extremely important for a swift recovery.

Our reticulated PU foams are not just used for HME application, but can also be used in negative pressure treatment for chronic and acute wounds.

We understand the importance of foam products in the medical industry, and also the need to keep these products completely sanitised. This is why we have established a close relationship with Micronclean, the accredited sterilisation specialists who thoroughly clean all our medical foam products following production. This means that you can rely on our foam products to be ready for application as soon as they are received by you.
