Although many of us are disgruntled when faced with cleaning jobs, it’s an inevitable part of life. We use our technical knowledge, and links to all the latest product developments, to manufacture and supply a wide variety of cleaning sponges, to make your lives easier.
We use synthetic foam in some of our sponges, such as sponge pore foam. This type of foam is known for its softness, and is ideal for gentle cleansing. There are various grades of sponge available to suit different tasks, and a vast range of colours. You may also be looking for a novelty bath sponge, and we can deliver. We can shape sponge pore foam in to everything from a whale to a pineapple, thanks to our in-house engineers and their nifty custom tooling.
Cellulose sponges are also very popular, and useful for household cleaning. Their super absorbency means you can use them for many intense cleaning tasks. We can advertise your brands on them as well. This type of sponge isn’t really suitable for bathing, so we’re covering all our bases and offering a range of natural sponges too.
These natural sponge products are soft to the skin, and are becoming ever popular thanks to their durability, mould and bacteria inhibitors, and the fact that they are chemical free. They’re also harvested responsibly, which adds to their environmental credentials. To find out more about our responsible trading policy, natural products, or other high quality sponges, please browse the website or get in touch.

Sponge foam is one of the most versatile and useful items around the home. It can be used for cleaning, bathing and crafting. Using sponge rubber in your paper crafting can give your projects that perfect finishing touch, tying all its elements together and giving your designs a professional look.
You don’t need to buy special sponge foam to use in your paper crafting. Any regular household sponges will do. You can even cut up pieces of sponge to get unique shapes that will enhance your projects. To use your crafting sponges, you should rub them in a circular motion on rubber stamping ink.
Always rub lightly so your sponge foam doesn’t get overloaded with ink – you can always add more if you need to. Practice with different amounts of ink and use different levels of pressure on your paper to find a look that will suit your project.
Sponge foam can be used in a variety of ways in paper craft projects. Lightly sponging a contrasting colour around the edge of your card can create a subtle vignette, softening your main image. If you intend to create images of outdoor scenes or landscapes, you can use sponge foam to create your background. For example, you can sponge white ink onto blue card to create look of clouds, or sponge a few different shades of green together to create a rolling landscape.
Paper crafting is an incredibly relaxing and rewarding pastime, and using sponge foam is an inexpensive way of adding an extra dimension to your projects.

Many of us take general household items for granted these days, but most of the time a great deal of thought will have been put into their construction. And, did you know that many of the products we use on a daily basis are actually made out of foam? If you look around you’ll be able to find countless foam products littering your home, and you’ll soon see the benefits that this particular material can bring.
The obvious ones will be things like sponge foam, cosmetic applicators and polishing pads, as well as various different types of bedding and furnishings. But, it doesn’t stop there. Look a little deeper and you’ll find plenty of other options as well, with PVC ring binders and mouse mats being a common sight in many homes and offices. Then you’ve got aquatic filters, car and motorbike filters and even sports equipment such as buoyancy aids – all of these products, and many more besides, will have been made out of varying different types of foam.
Given its versatility it isn’t surprising to see many foam products being used on a daily basis in homes throughout the country (and beyond). It’s easy to overlook them, but when you think about it the range of applications is really quite incredible. If you’re looking for these types of foam products then you need to come and have a chat today, and we’ll soon show you the range of items that can be created using this most versatile and underestimated of materials.

It is often said that a picture paints a thousand words. Many businesses, however, are going one step further and commissioning the production of three-dimensional objects which facilitate an immediate and tangible rapport with their customers. Foam products in particular function extremely effectively in this context.
The advantage of securing three-dimensional products from a quality foam producer is that foam can exist in many different formats and be made of many different materials. It is the skill and advice of the foam producer that enables the production of objects that match exactly what a particular business has in mind.
Prototypes built for demonstration purposes, for example, can be made cheaply and efficiently using either flexible foams or rigid foams, depending on the product in question. Furthermore, it is relatively simple for a top foam producer to add colours and even embossed logos.
Promotional giveaways, on the other hand, are a great way to advertise different aspects of a business’s range of products and activities. Again, using foam to make such items can help keep costs down, and also enables such items to be mass-produced quickly and in bulk. Foam promotional products can range from soft sponge foam items to firmer ones fashioned from solid foam blocks.
There are many examples of demonstration and promotional products made from foam. UK companies have, for example, often used venues such as busy railway stations to give out stress balls with a corporate URL printed on each one.
At Technical Foam Services, we can supply any foam in virtually any shape for your business communication needs.

Promotional products are a vital part of any business’s marketing strategy. Not only do promotional gifts help nurture a positive attitude on the part of the consumer towards the business concerned; they are also retained far longer by consumers than, say, an advertisement in a magazine or newspaper. As with all marketing drives, however, it is important to balance quality of product against cost. One solution often favoured by marketers is to organise the bespoke manufacture of foam products.
Foam is an incredibly versatile and cost-effective medium to choose for the production of promotional items. Not only is there a wide choice of flexible foams (such as certain polyurethane or PU foams, including sponge foam) and rigid foams (such as certain polyethylene or PE foams, including EVA); there is also virtually no limit to the range of shapes and sizes that can be produced using foam. UK businesses have in recent years, for example, commissioned promotional products as diverse as stress balls, large sponge hands, hats, and dice.
Foam products are doubly attractive in that they can be made in almost any colour required; thus enabling the reproduction of corporate colours, or colours that are likely to appeal to consumers.
The main reason for choosing foam though from a promotional angle has to be the ease with which logos and other messages or designs can be printed on to foam products as part of the overall manufacturing process.
At Technical Foam Services our experts will be happy to convert any concept quickly and cost-effectively into quality promotional foam products.

The natural sponge has been recognised over the centuries for its unique combination of delicacy, absorbency and powerful cleansing abilities. Today, successful environmental initiatives mean that consumers can again make buying a natural sponge a responsible option.
Natural sponges vary in quality from the honeycomb sponge at the high end of the market to the grass and sea wool sponges at the lower end. Whilst different grades of natural sponge lend themselves to tasks ranging from exfoliating to make-up removal and even decorating, what they all share in common is a remarkable inner strength and durability that belies their inherent softness. A natural sponge will also soak up and hold water extremely effectively, yet be capable of being thoroughly cleaned right down to its deepest pores.
Cheaper synthetic alternatives to natural sponges, such as cellulose sponges, do of course perform perfectly adequately as bath sponges and cleaning sponges. It is also worth noting that cellulose sponges are biodegradable since cellulose itself is essentially specially processed plant matter.
However, synthetic sponges cannot hope to match a natural sponge as the ideal choice for bathing and cleaning.
The good news is that there are now many companies that farm the seas in a managed, responsible way; these companies have a policy of always leaving the sponge roots intact so that new sponges are guaranteed to grow.
When it comes to choosing between natural and synthetic sponges, we at Technical Foam Services are best placed to offer expert advice and to supply a full range of high quality managed sponges.

Products such as polyether foams often have to be manufactured to very exact specifications. It’s not enough for foam rubber suppliers to say they supply PE foams with a high tensile strength – that strength has to be quantifiable.
Similarly, the absorbency of open cell and sponge foams needs to be accurately known, especially where the products are used for medical or filtration purposes. In scientific research, those parameters become very fine indeed.
A common specification for engineered foam is bulk density. Also called apparent density, this is quoted as the theoretical density of the foam versus its actual porosity following packaging. Tensile strength is another issue, quoted as the maximum tension that can be applied to the product before it fails or breaks. Closely allied to this, elongation is the amount of deformation that occurs during mechanical testing, while tear strength is self-explanatory. The tensile modulus, or Young’s modulus, is a constant value indicating the variation in strain of the product, under a constantly applied tensile load.
Thermal conductivity is an important consideration for shaped foams used in temperature-sensitive areas, such as packing around electrical components or in automotive parts. It is defined as: “the linear heat transfer per unit area through a material for a given applied temperature gradient” or, in simple terms, the amount of heat insulation the product supplies. Dielectric strength refers to the maximum voltage that can occur before electrical breakdown occurs – important where foam products are used for electrical insulation.
We at Technical Foam Services are leading foam rubber suppliers, supplying closed and open cell foams for UK medical, industrial and domestic use to extremely high specifications.

If you are the sort of person who likes to keep the home sparkling clean, you will probably be aware of the so-called magic sponge. This is manufactured from melamine foam, and this material’s unique properties have earned it widespread recognition in the consumer market over the past few years.
Recognised for its magic performance in removing dirt and stains across a wide range of domestic applications, the market for melamine products for the home is increasing at a rapid rate.
As one of the leading foam suppliers and innovators in this field, Technical Foam Services is the supplier of many household brands and high street retailers, including Oven Pride and Halfords, who market it as The Great White Sponge.
This is just another example of how we at Technical Foam Services reach into just about every aspect of peoples’ lives with our products, which range from basic rubber and foam solutions right through to engineered foam, Jiffycell and Visco memory foam. We provide engineering solutions to businesses all over the world who use rubber and foam in their products, and even if you need foam cut to size, we can help with this as well.
Melamine is described as magic due to its ability to remove a range of marks and spills without the need for harsh detergents, but in reality there is no magic involved in this process. Melamine sponge foams have a unique structure that differs from other foams, such as polyurethane and polyethylene foams, and posses unique cleaning and absorption characteristics, without using powerful detergents or other chemicals.
