PVA Foam
PVA (Polyvinyl Alcohol) foam is characterized by its super absorbent quality, great durability and cleaning ability, and with a super soft texture when moist. Compared to other sponges made from polyurethane foams or cellulose sponge, PVA sponges can last up to six times longer. Other main characteristics are as follows;
- Strong Chemical and abrasion resistance
- Biodegradable
- Resistant to UV rays
- Machine washable up to 70 degrees C
- Available in various pore sizes for texture variations
- Available in a huge variety of colours
We have been converting PVA foams for many years, and as a result have the experience of handling such a unique material. It’s vastly different performance to more traditional sponge foams make it excel for certain applications, some of which are detailed below;
- Household cleaning sponges, eg mops, bathroom wipes
- Car cleaning sponges, wax applicator sponges
- Chamois leather alternative
- Beauty sponges for deep cleansing of skin, eye make-up remover, exfoliating sponges
- Bath sponges
We also have a number of medical customers for PVA foams, as one of the main unique characteristics of this material is that it hardens when allowed to dry, but as soon as it is exposed to water it regains its original damp and flexible state. This makes it excellent for use as a wound treatment foam, whilst the wound is open the damp foam absorbs any excess fluid and bacteria and after a period of time the dried foam is then easily replaced. We supply our medical PVA foams in sealed packaging and can provide a gamma sterilisation service if necessary.
